Our customers have always asked us about our Seattle recommendations. Over the years we’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of local businesses, tailors, shoemakers, and the like in Seattle. We are so grateful to have a community of trusted friends from clothing alterations to coffee roasters. Without missing a beat, we can say these are some of the finest in their industry.
FRIENDS OF SEW GENEROUSLY
ALTERATIONS
- Sunrise Couture Alterations is a mother-daughter team of Lek and Beam, two highly skilled fitters, seamstresses and designers. In addition to working with alterations for wedding dresses and suits, they specialize in women’s wear design for formal events along with traditional Thai design. Lek has experience in many different sewing techniques and fabrics that require an extensive amount of knowledge, skill, talent, and passion.
- The FXRY. Pronounced fixery, they do exactly that–fix. The FXRY offers clothing alterations & repairs from your favorite vintage jacket to your beloved pair of denim. Their mission is to keep all clothes in rotations and out of the landfill. While they’ve mostly had pop-ups around shops in Seattle, they are launching online booking in June 2024.
BESPOKE SHOES
- Leolo Handmade Shoes. Recently, we had the opportunity to work with Leolo Handmade Shoes for excellently crafted, one-of-a-kind shoes. We collaborated on two pairs, one of which was for our stylist and curator, Aidan. We brought a Harris Tweed houndstooth fabric from our shop for the shoe. Leanne, the founder, truly involved Aidan in the creative process as they poured over leather dyes to find the perfect complement to the tweed. Aidan even designed his initials for the broguing of the toe cap. We always recommend those who are visiting downtown Seattle to stop by Leolo’s to see another bespoke shop!
PHOTOGRAPHY
- Alya of Aleksandrina Photography has been an impeccable collaborator in delivering stunning photographs. She has worked with us on an array of photoshoots from editorial to runway. (Check out the photos from this overcoat photoshoot!) If you are in need of a photography for a wedding or an engagement session, you’ll be in good company. Alya specializes in portraits, weddings, and couple photoshoots. Hands down, she is one of our favorite Seattle photographers!
COFFEE ROASTERS
- Standing by their ethos that sincere hospitality is just as important as great tasting coffee, Elm Coffee Roasters is one of our favorites cafés and roasteries in our neighborhood. They are a modern coffee shop with the best cortado. But don’t just take our word for it, stop by their shop in Pioneer Square!
DRY CLEANERS
- Helena’s Dry Cleaners is a plant based dry cleaners in Seattle and Tacoma. They have been around for over 40 years and are a trusted source for last minute suit cleaning needs! If your suit has been hanging in the back of your closet for a while, we also recommend having it pressed before an event here.
DESIGNERS
- New Affection is a brand that grew from designer Siobhan’s roots of a reworn, reworked sewing practice. Their guiding practice is in “caring for old, discarded things and giving them extended life and meaning”. Some of the custom designed pieces they make are leather jackets, patch pants, bleached overalls, and more.
- Bauer-Ryan Co. is handmade garments and vintage treasures by Beck Ryan. They make an array of clothing with their imagination such as cropped floral button-ups, custom fanny packs, quilt coats & vests, and vibrant contrast wool coats.
